The most interesting experience during Orientation was cleaning up the flooded Mail Room area on the first night – talk about a good story to tell! There were many laughs had with the Summer Orientation Committee, especially late at night (Ha Game anyone?).Īfter the Summer Orientation sessions were over it was full speed ahead on planning Welcome Week activities! During this time I got to meet the rest of the Orientation Committee, a group of students that were entertaining and made my work fun! I got to experience a lot of events with this group of OC’s including move in day (and Frank carrying 37 fridges!), Matriculation Convocation, a Pub Party, Green Lake Beach Trip, Registration, Taste of Ripon (Yum!), Student Activities Fair and the Clergy Potluck. For starters, this was my first experience working with Orientation programs! What was I getting myself into? Turns out, Orientation is pretty neat – you get to introduce college and all it has to offer to the incoming class! While the three Summer Orientation sessions were long days (and a bit like experiencing Groundhogs Day), it was inspiring to see the Class of 2018 engaged in beginning their college experience. When I started in the Student Activities Office in May, I had no idea what this summer would have in store or how amazing my time at Ripon College would be. It’s hard for me to believe that my summer internship at Ripon College is coming to an end. Summer Intern, Karen Stepanek, Writes About Her Experience with SAO this Summer
